"O"
Young Obadias,
David, Josias
still were pious.
The royal Oak, it was the tree
that saved his royal majesty.
Don't quite get the 1805 version--something out of English history, perhaps? I may see if I can do some research and find out. As always, I like the 1777 version best, because teaches Scripture as well as the alphabet.
This blog is for displaying selections from an updated and doctrinally revised version of the old 1777 New England Primer. The language has been updated to reflect contemporary English, and the theology (including the catechisms) has been revised to reflect a reformed Baptist understanding of Scripture. I created this to provide myself and others like me with a teaching resource for our children.
All text is copywrited in my name (due to the unique changes made to them), but you are free to use anything you want, and share with others.
May you find blessing in this wonderful resource from our great American past. Thank you,
